Contact Igloo

Did you hear the news? We're going to be attending Digital Health Festival in Melbourne from the 7th-8th May.

And what's even more exciting is we have a jam-packed schedule of workshops and panels for you to enjoy at the show. We'll be showing visitors how to create immersive 360° training scenarios that can be deployed to VR headsets, tablets, desktop web browsers, or in this case an Igloo shared immersive space.

More details below...

Workshops:

At the festival, we will be showing some examples of how the NHS (the UK's National Health Service) is using VR tools to help care providers and patients experience clinical situations. This helps training providers reduce costs by removing the need for actors to replicate care situations and helps patients get familiar with the locations and procedures they will encounter and allows students to complete training at their own pace.

During the workshop we will demonstrate how easy web-based, no code environments can be to use. They allow users to drag and drop 360° videos, images and other elements like navigation icons, multiple choice questions and more, to create simple simhealth (simulation healthcare) scenarios.

You will discover practical tips on creating scenario-based training and how they can be augmented with things like 3D models, non-linear story flows, 360° AI image generation and more.

Workshop 1 – Tuesday the 7th 4-5pm – This session will be run by Warp VR – one of Europe’s leading 360 training tool providers

Workshop 2 – Wednesday 8th 2-3pm – This session will be run by Will from ICT learning showing off the Cenario VR platform.

Location – Igloo Sim Health Showcase Space – Stand 601

Panel Discussion: Lessons learned from creating immersive simhealth scenarios

As well as the above workshops, we'll be hosting a panel discussion exploring lessons learned from creating immersive simhealth scenarios.

You will hear about why they initially explored the technology, what they wanted to achieve and the scenarios they are visualising.  We’ll delve into the processes they've gone through, the challenges they've faced and those they overcame.  You will gain valuable insights into the experiences of leading institutions and discover the future trajectory of this transformative technology.

Time: 1-2pm Wednesday 8th May

Panel Participants:

  • Adam Montagu - Director of the University of Adelaide’s Health Simulation Centre – discussing how they used their immersive training space during covid, why they got it in the first place and the situations they’ve virtualised.
  • Brendan Shannon - Head of Postgraduate Programs and Deputy Head of Department and Carlos Garcia Gonzalez - instructor at the Monash immersive Paramedicine simulator
  • Emma Parker - CEO of Isonomic, SIM designers and creators and Kim Kenwell – Lead Digital Learning and Simulation Technologies, Health Sciences, Holmesglen - will talk about creating digital healthcare education SIM’s and the Virtual Hospital

You'll also get to see examples of immersive training first hand as after the discussion, there will be opportunity to engage with the pioneers of the future of simulation training and digital health.

This panel will be a small intimate session hosted in the Digital Health Festival’s Igloo 6-metre immersive projection space.

Places are limited, please RSVP via the link below or come past the immersive health showcase on stand 601 during the show.
